The aim of this study was to understand the trend of extracellular fluid change and to estimate the efficacy of an early congestive decongestive therapy (CDT) program after gynecological cancer therapy. Thirty-one patients with gynecological cancer treatment were enrolled and randomly assigned to 2 group; CDT group and control group. In CDT group, complex decongestive therapy (CDT) was started within 2 weeks after surgery for 30 minutes a day, for 2 weeks (5 days per week). All patients were assessed at pre and post operation period, 3, 6 months after surgery. Inbody S10® (Biospace, Seoul, South Korea) were used to evaluate the calculated extracellular fluid (ECF). Mean value of impedance ratio was low in CDT group during entire 12 months follow up. The results of the present study show that early assisted rehabilitation had a positive effect on the body composition. Long term follow up studies with a larger sample size are needed to warrant the time-group effect of early rehabilitation.
